TAMIYA 18099 Ray Spear (VZ)
A Ray of Light This assembly kit creates the Ray Spear, a Mini 4WD racer with body designed by Japanese “Hyper Designer” Takayuki Yamazaki. Molded in clear green plastic, the body features a thrusting design and is lightweight and compact, contributing to a low center of gravity for the car; it features a detachable canopy which reveals a jet fighter-esque cockpit interior. Like the body, the VZ chassis is a lightweight and compact design, and here it is paired with dark silver color wheels and super hard low-profile tires. |

★This kit features a body with futuristic racecar-inspired design, and comes with metallic stickers for decoration. |
★Like its name suggests, the body incorporates a sharp, thrusting design scheme, accented by the compact rear wing. |
★Viewed from the side, the model’s low profile really comes to the fore; its low center of gravity will help hug the track. |
★Lightweight and compact, the body is crafted in ABS plastic and weighs in at a featherweight nine grams, promising great speed. |
★As seen here, the design is composed of three sections: body, wing and canopy, and is sure to catch the eye of those watching your race. |
★The cockpit shape is reminiscent of those seen on fighter aircraft. Carbon fiber effect and pcd_designworks stickers add to the mood. |
★Left: The canopy features detailed molding on the inside of the part. This image shows painted (TS-71 Smoke) and unpainted examples.
★Right: Leaving the canopy part off lets you install figures. Animal figures in particular make a great combination with its coloring. |
